
Joint forces operation : 3 drug dealers arrested, 250 yaba tablets recovered

Joint forces arrested three individuals Altaf Mridha (45), Tanvir Ul Islam (25), and Shakil Ahmed (24) with 250 yaba tablets at Mirzaganj Upazila in Patuakhali
In the early hours of Wednesday at around 4:30 AM, the arrests were made during a joint raid led by Captain Rakin M.A. Ektidar, Commander of the Mirzaganj Army Camp, along with soldiers and Mirzaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam and his accompanying police team. The operation took place at the Subidkhali three-road junction area of the upazila.
Arrestee Altaf Mridha is the son of Jinnat Mridha of Purbo Subidkhali village. Tanvir Ul Islam is the son of Tarikul Islam of Uttar Amragachhia village, and Shakil Ahmed is the son of Altaf Mridha of Purbo Subidkhali village.
According to police sources, the operation was carried out based on confidential information.
From the residence of accused Altaf Mridha in East Subidkhali under Mirzaganj Police Station, a total of 250 yaba tablets (estimated market value: BDT 75,000), BDT 2,380 in cash from drug sales, 4 matchboxes used for drug consumption, 5 syringes, 1 roll of scotch tape, 1 pair of scissors, 30 pieces of foil paper used for drug use, 4 plastic finger caps, a drug pipe made from a BDT 10 note, and 2 blue-colored plastic zipper bags were recovered from drug dealers Altaf Mridha, Shakil Ahmed, and Md. Tanvir Ul Islam.
Regarding the incident, OC of Mirzaganj Police Station Nazrul Islam said, the arrests were made through a raid conducted based on secret information.
A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act at Mirzaganj Police Station, and the accused have been sent to court.
