Security personnel of Bangladesh Ansar demonstrated a prompt humanitarian response by rescuing a four-year-old speech-impaired child within half an hour of her disappearance at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and returning her to her father.
The incident took place on Wednesday night. The child, named Nadia, had come to Dhaka from Barguna with her family for medical treatment and went missing around 9:30 PM from the West Cabin on the third floor of the hospital's old building.
Upon learning about the missing child, on-duty Ansar members from the Ramna Zone (Dhaka Metropolitan South) stationed at DMCH immediately launched a search operation. Following an intensive search, Ansar member Md. Khairuzzaman successfully located and rescued the unharmed child near the glass gates of the hospital's new building, a short distance away from the West Cabin.
After being rescued, the child was brought before her father, Mubarak Hossain, and the speech-impaired girl identified her father through gestures. Subsequently, following proper verification in the presence of hospital authorities, Nadia was handed back to her father.
Service recipients and hospital authorities present at the scene lauded the swift and empathetic role played by the Ansar members. Overwhelmed with emotion after recovering his lost daughter, Mubarak Hossain expressed profound gratitude to the Ansar force.
Aside from maintaining law and order and ensuring security across government hospitals in the country, members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party routinely carry out such responsible and humanitarian duties.
