Fertilizer dealer fined Tk 10,000 for stock discrepancies in Sreebardi

A mobile court in Sreebardi upazila of Sherpur on Wednesday, fined a BCIC-authorized fertilizer dealer Tk 10,000 after finding discrepancies between the actual fertilizer stock in his warehouse and the records in his register.
Sreebardi UNO and Executive Magistrate Monisha Ahmed conducted the mobile court drive on Wednesday afternoon at Disha Enterprise, located in Langarpara Bazar of the upazila.
During the drive, officials conducted a physical verification of the fertilizer stored in the warehouse of Disha Enterprise. Inspecting officers found a mismatch between the inventory figures recorded in the official sales register and the actual physical stock present on site. Following the findings, the court fined Delowar Hossain, proprietor of the enterprise, Tk 10,000 for the irregularities.
UNO Monisha Ahmed stated that similar drives by the upazila administration will continue to protect consumer rights and ensure transparency in commercial activities.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Mahmudul Hasan Akand, along with Upazila Fertilizer and Seed Monitoring Committee members Mezbaul Haq Babu and Abdullah Al Mamun Dulal, officials from the upazila agriculture department, and law enforcement personnel were present.
