Fish fry released in Kathalia

The Department of Fisheries in Kathalia upazila of Jhalakathi on Thursday, released fingerlings of various fish species into multiple water bodies across the upazila.
Kathalia UNO Md. Mokbul Hossain inaugurated the program as the chief guest by releasing fish fry into the Kathalia Upazila Parishad pond on Thursday morning. At the initiative, a total of 294 kilograms of Rui, Katla, Mrigal, and Kalibaus fingerlings were released into 12 institutional ponds across the upazila.
The event was attended by Md. Waseem Ahmed, younger brother of the local Member of Parliament, alongside Upazila Fisheries Officer Nahida Akhtar, Agriculture Officer Fatima Islam, Upazila BNP President Jalalur Rahman Akon, General Secretary Akhtar Hossain Nizam Mirbahar, Jubo Dal President Zainal Abedin, and Upazila Chhatra Dal Convenor Rakibul Islam Tushar.
Local journalists, fishermen, and government officials were also present on the occasion.
