Indiscriminate cutting of soil on banks of Brahmaputra river in Kapasia going on ahead national elections

A gang is looting the land by cutting the bank of the old Brahmaputra river in the Kapasia Upazila area near Manohardi due to administrative busyness ahead of the National Assembly election.
This miscreant gang has been cutting the bank of the river and selling it day and night for the last 10/15 days.
Khirati village of Kapasia is on the other side of the old Brahmaputra river which flows by Manohardi upazila headquarter.
Excavator has been cutting and selling the soil openly day and night. Residents of Kapasia upazila administration have complained that the rogue gang is doing the work on the occasion of upcoming National Assembly elections.
As a result of such indiscriminate cutting of soil, the efficiency of the Brahmaputra river bank, which was dug three years ago, is being destroyed, and there is also a danger of extensive damage to its bank during the monsoon.
In this regard, Kapasia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Ali Siddique said, the administration is continuously active against all these. Even in the last few days, disciplinary measures have also been taken against it. He also said that a large circle is active in this work due to the busy schedule of the National Assembly election.
