Central Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Doctor Shafiqur Rahman visited the grave and prayed for the betterment of Shaheed Abu Sayeed’s soul who was killed by the police in Rangpur during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Jamaat Ameer visited the grave of Abu Saeed at his home in Bamanpur of Jafar Para of Pirganj at 11 am on Wednesday. At this time, he met Abu Sayeed's parents and relatives and expressed his condolences. He paid cash to the family of the deceased and announced that he would stay with his family forever.

While discussing with the journalists at this time, Jamaat Ameer called to bring under punishment who were involved in the recent murders on quota reform movement. In response to another question from the journalists, he said that since the students have led this movement, the interim government will be supported by discussing with them.

Earlier, he got down from the helicopter and addressed a short meeting in the ground of Pirganj Jafarpara Kamil Madrasa. In the meeting, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer urged everyone to keep a watchful eye on those who create unstable environment in the country. At that time, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central assistant secretary and Rangpur-Dinajpur region director Maulana Abdul Halim, central working council member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region assistant director Maulana Mamtaz Uddin and central working council member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region team member Md. Mahbubur Rahman Belal were present in the meeting. Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer and Central Majlish Shura Member ATM Azam Khan, Rangpur Metropolitan Nayebe Ameer Professor Anwarul Islam, Rangpur District Ameer Md. Golam Rabbani, Rangpur District Secretary Maulana Enamul Haque, Gaibandha District Ameer Md. Abdul Karim, Dinajpur District Ameer Md. Anwarul Islam, Rangpur Metropolitan Training Secretary Maulana Shahjahan Sirazi, Pirganj Jamaat Leader Maulana Nurul Amin, Mithapukur Jamaat leader Asaduzaman Shimul and a large number of Jamaat and Shibir leaders attended the programme.
