
Journalists must remain united.: Sundarganj Combined Press Club general meeting held

"As the conscience of the nation, journalists must work collectively by maintaining mutual respect, professional ethics and unity. The role of journalists is of utmost importance in the development of a country, the growth of democracy and the establishment of justice,"
The speakers said this at the general meeting of the Sundarganj Sammilit Press Club in Gaibandha.
The meeting was held on Friday (July 11) evening at the temporary office of the Sundarganj Sammilit Press Club on the second floor of the Ideal Library on Jame Masjid More.
The meeting was chaired by the convener of the press club, veteran journalist and prominent businessman Nazrul Islam, and moderated by journalist principal Ekramul Haque. Upazila BNP Convener Babul Ahmed, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Shahidul Islam Sarkar Manju, Municipal BNP Convener Ikhtiar Uddin Bhuiyan Nipon, and Press Club Member Secretary former municipal mayor Nurunnabi Pramanik Saju spoke.
Other speakers included media workers Shahjahan Miah, Mosharraf Hossain Bulu, Khizir Uddin, Mahfuzar Rahman Lelin, Rezaul Islam, A Mannan Akand, Imdadul Haque, Zahidul Islam Zahid, Sudipto Shamim, Shah Redwanur Rahman, AKM Shamsul Haque, Mizanur Rahman, Shahidar Rahman Jahangir, Saiful Akand, Harun Or Rashid, Nurunnabi Miah, and others.
The speakers said, 'Journalists are the conscience of the nation. The role of journalists is most important in the development of a country, the growth of democracy, and the establishment of justice. By presenting true and objective news, they not only reflect the image of society. They play a role in establishing human rights by taking a stand against injustice. Journalism is not a profession, it is a place of responsibility and accountability.
The speakers further said that journalists are the mirror of society. People's hopes and aspirations, problems and crises and reality are reflected through the pen of journalists. Therefore, the professionalism, impartiality and moral stance of journalists strengthens democracy and creates trust in the state and society. The journalistic community must remain united through mutual respect, sympathy and cooperation, not bound by the shackles of politics. Everyone must rise above personal interests or party affiliation and work together for the greater good of the organization.
They said, the United Press Club is not just an organization, it is a platform for the dignity, rights and professional development of journalists. To make its activities more dynamic, all members must come forward sincerely. A strong and effective organization must be built through exchange of views, not differences. Which can play a strong role in protecting the interests of journalists and professional excellence.
It is mentioned that this general meeting was held under the banner of the Sundarganj United Press Club in the presence of almost all journalists to unite and work together through harmony and friendship by incorporating multiple press clubs that were formed due to differences among journalists working in Sundarganj Upazila. Important discussions were also held on professional development and the future strategy of the press club.
