Kuliarchar Pourashava has announced a proposed budget of Tk 20,80,59,308 for the upcoming 2026-27 fiscal year, focusing on infrastructure development, public health, and the expansion of civic amenities. Out of the total financial plan, the revenue budget has been estimated at Tk 3,84,76,000, while the development allocation has been set at Tk 16,95,83,308.

Municipal Administrator and Kuliarchar UNO Md. Yasin Khandaker officially declared the proposed budget during a budget formulation meeting held at the municipality office premises on Monday afternoon.

The budget session was attended by several local government officials and ward coordination representatives, including Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Adnan Akhter, Kuliarchar Police Station OC Kazi Arif Uddin, Upazila Engineer S.R.M.G. Kibria, Upazila Social Services Officer Mahbuba Siddiqui, and Upazila Primary Education Officer Masudur Rahman. Municipal Executive Officer and Assistant Engineer Md. Abul Ahsan Bhuiyan, Municipal Administrative Officer Minhajul Islam, and Municipal Accountant Bidhan Chandra Das were also present to assist with the structural outlines of the financial plan.

According to the budget documents, in the revised budget for the outgoing 2025-2026 fiscal year, the revenue income was fixed at Tk 2,94,35,368 against a revenue expenditure of Tk 4,86,62,555. On the other hand, the revised development income for the same period stood at Tk 16,19,50,000, with the development expenditure recorded at Tk 16,95,83,608.

In the budget for the new financial year, the local municipality has outlined several key objectives, including boosting the municipality's internal revenue collection, constructing durable roads and drainage networks, and strengthening public health and cleanliness drives across all wards.

The financial layout also places significant emphasis on installing modern streetlights, expanding digital civic services, and ensuring the timely implementation of various urban development projects.
