No shortage of fertilizer in country.: Agriculture Minister

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Mohammad Amin-ur Rashid has said that there is currently no shortage of fertilizer in the country and there is adequate stock.
However, a vested interest group is trying to create an artificial crisis. The government is vigilant against such activities and necessary measures have been taken to ensure uninterrupted supply of fertilizer to farmers.
He made these comments while visiting the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) in Gazipur at 10:30 am on Tuesday.
The Agriculture Minister mentioned that making Bangladesh an agricultural exporter is one of the main goals of the current government. The government is working on a long-term plan to make agricultural products the country's main export sector.
Later, the minister participated in a view-sharing meeting on the activities of various agriculture-related institutions.
The event was attended by M. Manjurul Karim Rony, Member of Parliament for Gazipur-2 constituency, Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, along with agricultural scientists, teachers and officials and employees of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI).
