Food Minister Afroza Khanam MP has reiterated that no market syndicate will be allowed to manipulate essential commodity prices, assuring that government godowns hold adequate food stocks to prevent any supply crisis.

The minister made the remarks following inspection visits to the Postogola Public Modern Flour Mill, the wheat silo, Premix Kernel Factory, and Modern Lab in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, as well as the CSD and Steel Rice Silo in Bandar upazila on Tuesday. 

Highlighting ongoing administrative efforts, Afroza Khanam stated, "The current government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is working tirelessly. Existing challenges will be prioritized and resolved systematically."

At the beginning of her tour, the minister inspected the Postogola Public Modern Flour Mill, inquiring about operational activities and facility challenges from officials on duty. Upon being briefed on local logistical needs, she assured prompt resolution.

During her visit to the wheat silo in Siddhirganj, officials delivered a PowerPoint presentation detailing storage capacities, preservation methods, and operational workflows before guiding the minister through the facilities.

Later at the CSD and Steel Rice Silo in Bandar, field officials briefed the minister on staff shortages, the necessity of replacing unusable godowns with new structures, and the urgent need for office buildings and residential quarters. 

Food Secretary Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, Director General of the Directorate General of Food Md. Jashim Uddin Khan, Narayanganj District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, senior food department officials, and Member of Parliament for Narayanganj-5 Abul Kalam—who also serves on the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Food—were present during the inspection visits.
