A 28-day "Upazila/Thana Ansar Advance Training-2026" commenced on October 4 across two Ansar Battalion training centers under a pilot project titled “Training of Forces Under People’s Warfare Doctrine,” initiated by the Armed Forces Division (AFD) in alignment with government electoral commitments.
The first phase of the pilot project is currently underway at the Safipur Ansar Battalion (27 BN) in Gazipur and the Patuakhali Ansar Battalion (31 BN). A total of 200 volunteer members who previously completed the Upazila/Thana Ansar basic training are participating in this initial batch. Officials confirmed that the program will soon be expanded to eight additional Ansar battalions.
Designed under the initiative of Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Director General of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, the modern training framework aims to enhance the operational capabilities of volunteer members in Upazila and Thana Ansar companies, building a skilled and resilient force capable of responding to national crises.
Under the supervision of respective Battalion Commanders and the overall guidance of the AFD, experienced instructors from the Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy are conducting the training modules. The curriculum covers core marksmanship principles, aiming standards, and firing safety, along with theoretical and practical instruction on infantry organization, basic infantry operations, and fieldcraft—including camouflage, concealment, and cover techniques.
The core objective of the program is to equip Upazila and Thana Ansar personnel with essential military knowledge, tactical skills, and operational readiness under the People’s Warfare Doctrine to effectively respond during national emergencies.
