A new executive committee has been formed through the annual general meeting (AGM) and the 2026–28 biennial election of the Patuakhali Journalists Forum (PJF), Dhaka—an organization of journalists from Patuakhali district working in Dhaka.

In the election, Md. Asadusjaman (Shajib), a sub-editor at the popular English daily The Country Today, was elected as the Office Secretary.

The election was held on Friday in a festive atmosphere at the CRAB Auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters Unity.

The newly- elected Office Secretary, Md. Asadusjaman (Shajib), is actively involved with various organizations dedicated to the welfare of journalists alongside PJF. Notably, he currently serves as the General Secretary of the Mirzaganj Journalists Forum (MJF) in Dhaka, a member of the Dhaka Sub-Editors Council, a member of the Barishal Division Journalists Association, an executive member of the Greater Mirpur Journalist Society, a member of the Mirpur Reporters Club, and Joint General Secretary of the Dhaka North unit of Sabuj Andolan Bangladesh.

Additionally, the young journalist leader serves as the Chief Editor of the country's popular online portal Daily Sangbad Bangladesh.

Expressing his gratitude, the emerging journalist leader Shajib said, "I extend my gratitude to the advisory council, election commission, all honored members, and well-wishers for electing me as the Office Secretary of PJF, and I express millions of praises to Almighty Allah. I will continuously strive for the development of the forum."

Badrul Alam Nabil, Executive Editor of Banglavision, was elected President, while Aminul Islam, Senior Reporter at ATN News, was elected General Secretary.

Besides, Jowhar Iqbal Khan, Joint News Editor of Bangladesher Alo, was elected Vice President; Shahid Rana, Managing Editor of Daily Adin, as Joint General Secretary; Ganesh Chandra Howlader, News Editor of Darpan Protidin, as Finance Secretary; Md. Taimun Islam Raihan, Staff Reporter of Desh TV, as Organizational Secretary; and Taifur Rahman Tuhin, Senior Reporter of Desh TV, as Publication, Publicity, and Cultural Secretary.

The elected executive members are Md. Ariful Islam of Ekushey Television, Mohammad Kamrul Hasan (Shishir), Reporter of Daily Adin, Ripon Howlader, Reporter of Daily Sorezomin, Alamgir Hossain, Executive Editor of Oporadh Chitra, and Sharmin Azad, Deputy Input Editor of Channel One.

Chief Election Commissioner Adv Maulana Md. Ruhul Amin, along with Election Commissioners Akon Abdul Mannan, Forkan Ahmad, Muhammad Anwarul Haq, and Tuhin Howlader, conducted the election and announced the results.

The election was preceded by the organization's biennial general meeting, presided over by outgoing President Md. Sohidul Islam Rana and moderated by outgoing General Secretary Saikhul Islam Uzzal.
