Md. Jahangir Hossain Sajeeb, President of Saturia Union Chhatra Dal of Rajapur Upazila of Jhalakati, has planted trees as part of the environmental conservation and greening program. The program was held on Wednesday morning at Saturia MM High School premises.
Saplings of various species of medicinal and fruit trees were planted in the school premises. Present at the event were the school's head teacher Rina Khatun, assistant teacher Zakir Hossain, Saturia Union Chhatra Dal President Md. Jahangir Hossain Sajeeb, Vice President Apu, Deputy General Secretary Zahurul Haque, Finance Secretary Zahidul Haque Zahid, ward Chhatra Dal members Soleman, Ahadul, Mostakik, Redoan, Kaif, Siam, Nesar, along with teachers, students and local leaders.
Saturia Union Chhatra Dal President Md. Jahangir Hossain Sajeeb presented medicinal plants to the students at the event. He said, "There is no alternative to tree plantation to maintain environmental balance and raise a healthy generation. We have been planting trees in various educational institutions every year to involve the student community in environmentally friendly activities. This continuity will continue in the future as well."
School students spontaneously participated in the tree planting program. Organizers said that through this program, students will learn to love nature and become more aware of protecting the environment.
