
Plantation programme by Youth Foundation in Sreepur

The Youth Foundation has taken the initiative to plant trees to protect the balance of the environment in Sreepur, Gazipur. In collaboration with the CCDB Climate Center, various fruit and flower trees were planted on the premises of North Pelaid Nurul Islam Mandal High School on Tuesday afternoon.
The tree plantation program organized in the school premises was inaugurated by the president of the school management committee, freedom fighter Abdul Latif. The headmaster of the institution, Lineun Nahar Shimul, acting headmaster of Uttar Pelaid Government Primary School, Lutfar Rahman Farhad, representative of CCDB, Sujan Sheikh, assistant teachers of the school, members of the Youth Foundation and students were present.
The speakers said that planting trees at the local level is very important to combat global climate change. Such activities need to be expanded further to increase environmental awareness among students. They said that the main objective of this initiative is to make educational institutions greener and to raise future generations to be environmentally friendly.
It is mentioned that after the tree plantation, an awareness discussion was held among the students on tree care and climate change. This initiative has been praised by the locals.
