Public Engineering Day, 56th founding anniversary of IDEB celebrated in Kurigram

Public Engineering Day-2026 and the 56th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) was celebrated in.Kurigram with the theme, “Skilled Diploma Engineers, Developed Country – Bangladesh First.”
On Sunday at 10:30 am, a colourful rally was organized by the Kurigram District Branch of IDEB. The rally started from the district IDEB office, passed through the main streets of the town, and concluded at the Roads and Highways Department office.
Earlier, the rally was inaugurated by the chief guest, Sohel Hossain Kaykobad, Administrator of the District Council and Member Secretary of the District BNP.
The event was presided over by Engineer Md. Raihan Mia, President of the IDEB Kurigram District Branch. Among those who delivered speeches were Ashish Kumar Basu Roy, Executive Engineer of the Education Engineering Department in Kurigram; Engineer Md. Rukunuzzaman, General Secretary of the District IDEB; Engineer Md. Shoaibur Rahman; Engineer Md. Faruk Mia; and Engineer Md. Abdul Aziz Khokon, among others.
The programme was conducted by Engineer Md. Azharul Islam, former General Secretary of the organization.
Speakers said that diploma engineers play a vital role in the country's infrastructure development, industrialization, and technological advancement. They highlighted the contributions of diploma engineers to various mega projects, including the Padma Bridge, Metro Rail, and Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
