Rajshahi International Junior Tennis Championship Tournament from Oct 5

The 31st Rajshahi International (U-18) Junior Tennis Championship Tournament will be held in Rajshahi from October 5 to 10, 2026. The organizers announced this at a Meet the Press held at the Orchid Hallroom of the Rajshahi Tennis Complex at 11:00 am on Saturday. 
 
They said the tournament is being organized in Rajshahi with the approval of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), financial support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, assistance from the Bangladesh Tennis Federation, and under the management of the Tennis Complex, Rajshahi. More than 100 players from countries including host Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Nepal, Japan, China, Korea and the United States will participate in the tournament.
 
Rajshahi Tourism Motel, Hotel X and Grand River View have been designated to accommodate the players, coaches, guardians and officials. Two microbuses will remain available around the clock to transport the players between the hotels/motel and the venue.
 
Among the participating boys, Thailand’s Likul Patcharaphul is the highest-ranked player, with an ITF World Junior Ranking of 1,059. Among the girls, India’s Sheikh Shajfa is the highest-ranked player, with a ranking of 2,045.
 
The boys’ singles and girls’ singles draws will each consist of 32 players, with four players qualifying through the qualifying round and four entering through wild cards. The boys’ doubles and girls’ doubles draws will each consist of 16 pairs. The qualifying matches will be held on October 4, while the main-draw matches will begin at 9:00 am on October 5 and continue throughout the day.
 
Hasinur Rahman Tinku is serving as the Tournament Director of the international event, while Joy Mukherjee of India has been appointed as the Tournament Referee. He is an ITF-authorized White Badge Referee. The tournament organizing committee is working tirelessly to ensure the successful completion of the event.
 
The tournament’s opening ceremony will be held at 9:00 am on October 5. Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu will attend as the chief guest, while Members of Parliament from all six constituencies of Rajshahi, as well as heads and officials of government and private offices at the divisional and district levels, are expected to attend as guests.
 
Tournament Director Hasinur Rahman Tinku, Tournament Media Committee Convener Golam Mostafa Mamun, ITF Tournament Referee Joy Mukherjee of India, who is visiting Rajshahi for the 10th time as a participant in the tournament, District Sports Officer Jahangir Hossain, and former General Secretary of Tennis Complex, Rajshahi, Akkas Ali, were present.
