Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu on Saturday stated that various initiatives are being implemented to actively involve young people in sports, which will bring life back to dormant playing fields across the country.
The minister made these observations during a press briefing following his visit to the Lalmonirhat District Stadium on Saturday morning.
"In line with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's electoral pledge to bring players back to the grounds, the Prime Minister's Gold Cup has already commenced, and the Deputy Commissioner Teenagers Football Tournament will be inaugurated on October 10," Asadul Habib Dulu said. He added that dedicated measures are also underway to revive traditional rural sports, including Ha-du-du.
Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Muha. Rashedul Haq Chodhuray, District Council Administrator A.K.M. Mominul Haq, and other senior district officials were present during the stadium inspection.
