BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed and State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and Land Ministry Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, visited several flood-ravaged areas across Chattogram district on Tuesday to distribute emergency relief goods to 1,500 affected families.

The political leadership visited the Tailardwip Bazar adjacent area under Anwara upazila, Elisha in Banshkhali upazila, and the Pathaner Pool area in Satkania upazila. Later, with the active cooperation of the Bangladesh Army, they navigated floodwaters by boat from Pathaner Pool to inspect heavily inundated regions like Keochia, where they spoke directly with waterlogged residents to assess their immediate needs.

During the visit, emergency dry food packages and other life-saving essential commodities were systematically distributed among 1,500 highly vulnerable and flood-affected households. The entire operation was coordinated and executed in a structured manner with the help of the local administration.

Addressing the displaced citizens during the drive, State Minister Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin stated that the government led by Prime Minister Tariq Rahman is working tirelessly and with absolute sincerity to alleviate the sufferings of the flood-affected population. Reassuring the displaced families, he promised that as soon as the floodwaters fully recede, the government will deploy all necessary rehabilitation and recovery measures to help them return to normal lives quickly.

The State Minister strictly instructed field-level government officials to ensure rapid, equitable, and completely non-discriminatory distribution of relief materials. He also issued administrative directives to map out immediate reconstruction plans for damaged housing and civilian shelters.

Senior officials of the local administration, prominent public representatives, and central and grassroots political leaders from various tiers were present.
