Silent procession by Metro BNP in Faridpur

A silent procession was organized by the Metropolitan BNP in remembrance of the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising on Friday afternoon.

The procession started in front of the Faridpur Civil Surgeon Office, paraded through the main roads of the city, and ended at the Janata Bank intersection.

The procession was led by the Joint Secretary of the Central Committee of the Women’s Wing, Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf.

Present on the occasion were Faridpur Metropolitan BNP Convener A.F.M. Kaiyum Jangi, District BNP Member Secretary A.K.M. Kibria Swapon, Joint Convener Azam Khan, Advocate Golam Rabbani Bhuiyan Ratan, Rubel Hossain, Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Golam Mostafa Miraj, Kotwali Thana BNP General Secretary Nazmul Hasan Chowdhury Ranjan, District Farmers' Wing President Rezaul Islam, General Secretary Murad Hossain, District Volunteer Wing Member Secretary Shahriar Shithil, District Student Wing President Syed Adnan Hossain Anu, Metropolitan BNP Member Nuruzzaman Chowdhury Pankaj, Mizanur Rahman Minan, along with a large number of leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliate organizations.

At the pre-procession gathering, Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Joint Secretary of the Central Committee of the Women’s Wing, said,
"A new leadership seems to be emerging in Bangladesh. About you, we will only say this — you led a movement for one month and five days. But BNP has been struggling to restore democracy for seventeen years. You took office just one month and five days after launching your movement. You couldn’t realize how difficult it is to endure the wrath of the government while being in the opposition."
