Sylhet youth shot dead by miscreants in London

Masum Ahmad, a 40-year-old expatriate Bangladeshi youth from Sylhet, was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in East London, United Kingdom.
The victim, Masum, was the son of Amir Ali from Purba Karikona village under Ward No. 3 of Bishwanath municipality in Sylhet. Married and the father of a daughter, he had been living permanently in the UK since childhood.
The tragic incident occurred around 3:30 AM local time on Monday in the East London area. When news of the fatal shooting reached Bishwanath on Tuesday morning, a deep shadow of grief descended upon the victim's relatives and local residents, and his passing was announced through local mosque loudspeakers at noon.
The victim's younger brother Manik Mia, residing in the UK, stated that police visited their home around 4:00 AM local time following the incident and confirmed Masum's death using photographs. However, police have not yet disclosed the motive or the identities of the perpetrators. The victim's father, Amir Ali, also confirmed receiving news of his son's death by phone from Bangladesh and expressed profound sorrow.
Masum's body is currently in the custody of local police. According to family sources, since his other two brothers and two sisters also live in the UK with their families, legal and formal procedures are underway to swiftly repatriate his remains to Bangladesh.
