A workshop to present the surveyed information was held on the occasion of the formulation of the master plan of Sandwip Municipality under the Urban Management and Infrastructure Development Project (IUGIP) of the Local Government Engineering Department.
The workshop was organized on the morning of Thursday at Sandwip Municipality Auditorium.
It was presided by Mr. Mong Ching Nu Marma UNO of Sandwip. Present as guests were Sandwip Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury, Upazila BNP Member Secretary Alamgir Hossain Thakur, Municipality BNP Member Secretary Abul Bashar GS, Municipality BNP Joint Conveners Md. Zaker Hossain Bipul, Nazim Uddin, Md. Main Uddin, Md. Saifur Rahman Shamim, SM Mahbubul Alam Shimul and various members of the Urban Development Committee.
At the beginning of the program, Sandwip Town Forkania Madrasa General Secretary Air Bangla Anwar recited from the Quran, while poet and journalist Badal Roy Swadhin recited from the Holy Gita.
The speakers at the workshop said that accurate and updated information is essential for implementing the development plan of Sandwip Municipality. The information obtained through this survey will be helpful in developing the infrastructure of the municipal area, increasing public services and formulating long-term plans.
According to source, this workshop was organized with the aim of implementing modern and sustainable urban planning for Sandwip Municipality through the IUGIP project.
