Private hospital advertisement on boundary wall of govt hospital in Araihazar

Questions have been raised about the hanging of a private hospital advertisement on the boundary wall of the government health complex in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj. An advertisement for "Probasi Kalyan Hospital" has been seen in large letters on the boundary wall of the upazila health complex.

The advertisement mentions the name of the hospital, the name of the director, address and mobile number, along with complete information. The advertisement states that it is located in Kanan Plaza, Kalapatti Road, Araihazar area.

Locals said that such promotional advertisements by private organizations on the walls of government hospitals can lead to misuse of government space and confusion among the people. They believe that such advertisements can have the effect of reducing trust in government healthcare.

Several officials of the health department said that there is no rule against running any kind of private advertisement on the boundary wall or building of government hospitals. This is not only illegal but also morally questionable.

When the attention of the Upazila Health Complex authorities was drawn to this matter, they said that the matter would be investigated and if necessary, the advertisement would be removed.

Local conscious people have demanded the immediate removal of such illegal advertisements and ensuring the proper use of government facilities.
