One Ibrahim Molya (38) of Tapanbhag village in Sadar upazila was kidnapped under the identity of DB police to frame the opponents in Narail.
However, the investigation revealed that the incident was a staged drama. Police have rescued Ibrahim from Jessore and arrested four people involved in the incident.
On Saturday afternoon, Narail Sadar Police Station OC Md. Sajedul Islam confirmed the matter and held a press briefing.
Police said that on the night of September 2, the victim's wife, Mosa Irani Khatun, complained to the police station that three unknown people had kidnapped her husband under the identity of DB police.
He further mentioned in the complaint that the opponent did this conspiratorially due to the seizure of the water palace and past enmity. After the complaint, the police, DB and Cyber Crime Unit jointly launched an investigation. Based on a secret tip-off, Ibrahim was rescued from a house in the Bakchar area of Jashore Kotwali Police Station in the early hours of September 5.
Later, during interrogation, Ibrahim admitted that he was voluntarily hiding as part of a debt and family plan. This drama was staged with the aim of framing the opponent in a false case and causing social harm.
Four people, including Ibrahim's wife Irani Khatun, brother Ruhul Amin and uncle Ramzan Ali, have been arrested in this incident.
During interrogation, they also admitted to staging the drama. Sadar Police Station SI Hayat Mahmud Khan has filed a case against the four people as the plaintiff in this incident.
