Human chain protesting beating of journalists, withdrawal of OC in Gangachara demanded

The journalist community protested the attack on 5 journalists in Gangachara, Rangpur and the OC's reluctance to accept the case and his disrespectful behavior.
In protest, a human chain was formed under the banner of Sammilit Jangid Samaj at Gangachara Bazar Zero Point on Friday afternoon.
Journalist leaders in the human chain gave the accused OC an ultimatum to withdraw within 72 hours. Otherwise, they warned of a larger movement. They also strongly demanded that the accused be arrested and brought to justice. They demanded that all the stolen items, including the camera, be recovered and returned.
Saju Ahmed Lal presided over the human chain. Gangachara Upazila Press Club President Abdul Alim, Rangpur Reporters Club General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Lulu, journalists Zakirul Islam Montu, Rafiqul Islam Sabul, Mahfuzar Rahman Mahfuz and others. The program was moderated by Gangachara Press Club General Secretary Ali Arif Sarkar Riju spoke.
The speakers said, the attacks on journalists while performing their professional duties and not filing cases at the police station are highly condemnable. If an officer-in-charge behaves like this with journalists, what will be the condition of the general public?
They also said that if the police administration remains indifferent to the incident of journalist torture, the journalist community will join the movement in unity. Journalists from various print and electronic media working in Gangachara were present at the time.
