Vigilant and prompt action by Bangladesh Ansar members deployed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) led to the successful recovery and return of a misplaced luggage belonging to an expatriate passenger on Wednesday. The luggage was handed over to its rightful owner after thorough verification of the credentials, resolving a stressful mix-up between two incoming travelers.

The incident unfolded at around 10:20 AM when Md. Shahin Mridha, an expatriate returning from Oman, noticed his luggage missing at the Canopy-02 area and informed the on-duty Ansar Assistant Patrol Commander (APC) Md. Nizam Uddin. Recognizing the urgency, APC Nizam Uddin immediately initiated a recovery operation and briefed the shift in-charge, Thana Instructor Md. Wasim Miah. Under his guidance, the Ansar personnel launched a comprehensive search, utilizing public announcements and combing the surrounding vicinity to track down the bag.

During the search, the security team discovered an abandoned luggage left behind in the canopy area. Upon examining its identification tag, APC Nizam Uddin managed to retrieve a mobile number linked to Md. Iman Ali, an expatriate who had recently arrived from Dubai. The Ansar team immediately contacted Ali over the phone, who then realized that he had accidentally walked away with Shahin Mridha's baggage while leaving his own behind in a hurry.

Following the phone call, Iman Ali rushed back to the airport terminal with the incorrect luggage.

In the presence of both passengers, the Ansar officials meticulously cross-checked the tag numbers, descriptions, and relevant travel documentation of both bags to ensure complete accuracy. Once the verification process was completed, the luggages were successfully swapped and handed over to their respective owners. Expressing his profound relief, Shahin Mridha extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Ansar members.
