Coast Guard detained drug trader with 10,000 Yaba pills in Teknaf

Bangladesh Coast Guard detained a drug trader along with 10,000 Yaba pills valued at approximately Tk 50 lakh during an anti-narcotics operation in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon informed this in a press statement on Sunday morning.
According to the official, an operational team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a targeted raid in the Keruntoli area under Teknaf Police Station based on confidential intelligence at approximately 8:00 PM on Saturday.
During the drive, Coast Guard personnel intercepted and searched a suspicious CNG-run auto-rickshaw operating in the area. Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets and a mobile phone, subsequently detaining the driver and impounding the auto-rickshaw used for narcotics transportation.
The detained suspect, along with the seized contraband, mobile phone, and vehicle, was handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station on Sunday for further legal proceedings. Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon reiterated that the Coast Guard will maintain strict vigilance and continue operations to eradicate drug trafficking across coastal regions.
