Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon, Media Officer of the Coast Guard informed the matter in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team from the Coast Guard Station Pagla conducted an operation in the area around 7:00 AM. During the drive, the team intercepted and searched a suspicious truck, leading to the recovery of the illegal polythene. The driver and helper of the truck were later released along with the vehicle after signing a legal bond.

The seized polythene bags were subsequently handed over to the Narayanganj office of the Department of Environment for destruction.
