Democracy cannot be given a chance to be undermined, everyone must be vigilant :Dr Zahid

Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said, it will be the responsibility of all of us to build a democratic, peaceful and prosperous Bangladesh. The trust and faith that the people have in democracy must remain intact. Every citizen of the country must be vigilant and aware so that no evil force or vested interest group gets the opportunity to undermine democracy.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony to distribute sewing machines to women from the special allocation of the ADP for the 2025-2026 financial year and donation checks from the Ministry of Social Welfare to the needy, helpless, sick, disabled people and meritorious students at the Birampur Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Dinajpur on Friday afternoon, chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Md. Tanzina Khatun and moderated by Social Service Officer Abdul Awal.
The minister said, "Democracy is not just the name of a system of government, it is a symbol of people's rights, freedom of expression and the rule of law. It is the moral and constitutional responsibility of all of us to protect this achievement. There is no alternative to maintaining democratic continuity to maintain the development, stability and progress of the country."
At this time, he called on everyone to work together for the development of the country, preservation of democratic values, and establishment of people's rights.
