
Free medical camp in Ashashuni on death anniv of Latifur Rahman, Faraaz Hossain

A day-long free medical camp was organized at Karim Super Market in Budhhata, Ashashuni upazila of Satkhira to mark the death anniversaries of renowned industrialist and Chairman of Transcom Group, the late Latifur Rahman, and his grandson Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain.
The camp began at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the Diabetes and General Hospital in Karim Super Market and continued until 4:00 p.m. The event was organized by SKF Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
From early morning, men and women from surrounding areas flocked to the venue. By noon, 210 patients had registered, among whom over a hundred received free consultations and medicines. Organizers stated they aimed to serve between 450 and 500 patients throughout the day.
Doctors participating in the camp included Dr. Minak Kumar Biswas, Assistant Registrar and Cardiology Specialist at Satkhira Medical College Hospital, as well as specialists in medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics.
Sharmin Sultana (28), a resident of Budhhata, said she has been suffering from gynecological issues for a long time and came to receive treatment after hearing about the camp. Taslima Khatun (25) of Gunakarkati village also consulted a gynecologist and received free medication.
Another patient, Mostaq Ahmed, came for allergy treatment, while Mohabbat Ali (65) from Naikati village received diabetes treatment from Dr. Minak Kumar Biswas and was also provided with medicines.
Md. Rezaul Karim, Senior Regional Sales Manager of SKF Pharmaceuticals Ltd., said, “We organize this camp every year in memory of the late Latifur Rahman and his grandson Faraaz Hossain.”
The camp was supported by Area Manager Narayan Chandra Halder, Field Manager Kamal Hossain, and Medical Services Officers Kamaruzzaman and Dipak Kumar Ray.
