A meeting was held in Kapasia, Gazipur, with members of the Agricultural Information and Communication Center and local farmers to discuss the rapid expansion of e-agriculture activities under the programme “ e-agriculture Expansion Through Strengthening Existing Agricultural Information and Communication Centers”.
This discussion meeting was held at the house of retired army officer Md. Hadiul Islam of Tok Nagar village in Birujli block of Tok union of the upazila on August 3. Deputy Assistant Agricultural Officer in charge of Birujli block Md. Aynal Haque gave agricultural advice as the chief guest in the meeting.
The agricultural officer said, in the current Kharip-2 season, we provided advice on balanced fertilizer use in our planted Aman paddy land, lines, logo system, benefits of perchi and cleaning the small branches of fruit trees and applying fertilizer according to the age of the tree. Later, through motivation, he visited the lands of ginger farmers Wahiduzzaman Anar, Fatema Akter and Md. Hadiul Islam and provided necessary advice.
The chief guest of the event said that e-agriculture services are now at the doorstep of farmers. Through this, they can learn about advanced crop technology while sitting at home. Therefore, farmers should come forward first in building smart agriculture. Through this, their quality of life will improve. The country will be wealthy.
50 farmers under the e-agriculture extension program participated in the event by strengthening the existing agricultural information and communication centers.
