Former state minister and BNP leader Asadul Habib Dulu said saving the Teesta River is vital for the people of North Bengal.
At a rally in Hatibandha on Thursday, he said the river is drying up, hurting farmers and the local economy. “Saving Teesta means saving North Bengal,” he added.
Dulu blamed the government for not taking real action on the Teesta Master Plan and warned of a bigger movement if the delay continues.
Other BNP leaders also spoke, demanding fair water sharing, river dredging, and support for people living by the river.
Hundreds joined the rally, chanting, “Save Teesta, Save North Bengal.
