UNO Rani Khatun inaugurates seed, fertilizer distribution program in Shyamnagar

Shyamnagar Upazila Administration and Upazila Agriculture Extension Department distributed seeds and fertilizers among nearly three thousand farmers on Monday.
As part of the agricultural incentive program for the Kharif-2 season of the 2024-25 fiscal year, a free distribution program for Aman paddy seeds and fertilizers was launched.
The seed and fertilizer distribution program was inaugurated at the Upazila Agriculture Extension Department premises by the chief guest, Shyamnagar Upazila Executive Officer, Ms. Rani Khatun. In her speech, the chief guest highlighted the vital contributions of farmers to the agricultural sector.
According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, under the implementation of Shyamnagar Upazila Agriculture Extension Department, 2,800 farmers from 12 unions will each receive 5 kg of paddy seed, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer free of charge. The distributed paddy seed varieties include BRRI dhan-49, BRRI dhan-51, BRRI dhan-52, BRRI dhan-75, BRRI dhan-87, BRRI dhan-93, BRRI dhan-95, Bina dhan-7, and Bina dhan-17.
The event was chaired by Upazila Agriculture Officer Nazmul Huda and attended by guests including Upazila Engineer Abdus Samad, Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Kazi Ariful Haque, Upazila Assistant Agriculture Extension Officer Gazi Abdus Salam, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Miraj Hossain Khan, and several Assistant Agriculture Officers.
