MP Nazrul Islam Azad inaugurates Agricultural Incentive Programme in Araihazar

A programme to distribute free Aman paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers, vegetable seeds and fertilizers, and seedlings of various species of trees among small and marginal farmers in Araihazar Upazila for the Kharip-2 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year has been inaugurated.

The program was inaugurated on Saturday morning at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium in Araihazar Upazila through a programme organized by the Upazila Agriculture Office. Member of Parliament for Narayanganj-2 constituency Nazrul Islam Azad was present as the chief guest.
MP Nazrul Islam Azad said, agriculture is one of the main driving forces of the economy of Bangladesh. The overall development of the country is not possible without the development of farmers. The government is providing various types of assistance and incentives to farmers to increase their production and improve their standard of living. He urged the farmers to use modern technology and follow the advice of the Agriculture Department to produce more.
Md. Azmul Haque, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General), Divisional Commissioner, Dhaka, was present as the special guest, and Araihazar UNO Md. Asadur Rahman presided over the function.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Russel Mia delivered the welcome speech. Farmers from different unions of the upazila, officers and employees of the Upazila Agriculture Office, public representatives, heads of educational institutions and dignitaries were present at the function.

Russel Mia said in his welcome speech that under the government's agricultural incentive program to increase agricultural production and ensure food security, improved (Ufshi) varieties of Aman rice and fertilizers are being distributed among a total of 2,500 small and marginal farmers of Araihazar Upazila. Under this program, each farmer will receive 5 kg of rice seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer free of charge. In addition, a total of 2,720 seedlings of fruit, forest and medicinal species will be distributed among 300 farmers and 61 institutions in Araihazar Upazila.

Under this program, each farmer will receive 5 kg of rice seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer free of charge. In addition, a total of 2,720 seedlings of fruit, forest and medicinal species will be distributed among 300 farmers and 61 institutions in Araihazar Upazila.
According to the program, each farmer will receive 5 seedlings and organic fertilizer and each institution will receive 20 seedlings and organic fertilizer. At the same time, vegetable seeds and fertilizer distribution activities will be started among 1,100 small and marginal farmers under the incentive program to increase vegetable production in the Kharip-2 season. Under this program, each farmer will receive 7 types of vegetable seeds, 15 kg of DAP fertilizer and 15 kg of MOP fertilizer.
