SUST Press Club installation ceremony held

The instsationnceremony of the 20th Executive Committee (EC) of the Shahjalal University Press Club, the official body of campus journalists at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), was held with great enthusiasm at 3 pm on Tuesday in the university's mini auditorium.
It was presided over by the Press Club President, Jubiadul Haque Robin, and conducted by General Secretary Naeem Ahmed Shuvo.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. A. M. Sarwaruddin Chowdhury, who attended as the chief guest. Prof Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain, Treasurer of SUST, Ikramul Kabir, President of Sylhet Press Club, and Moin Uddin, President of Sylhet Zilla Press Club were special guest.
The event commenced with the formal announcement of the 20th Executive Committee by Prof Dr. Mohammad Saiful Islam, who served as the Election Commissioner for the SUST Press Club Election 2025. Following the announcement, the outgoing Vice-President of the 19th Executive Committee, Rahat Hasan Mishkat, and General Secretary Hasan Nayeem, officially handed over their responsibilities to the newly elected committee.
Addressing the audience, Vice-Chancellor Dr. A. M. Sarwaruddin Chowdhury praised the enduring contribution of the SUST Press Club, stating: “The SUST Press Club has always played a vital role in the progress of the university. Its efforts in highlighting the university’s achievements both nationally and internationally are commendable. I am confident that the new committee will continue to contribute significantly in taking SUST forward.”
The event concluded with hopes for continued excellence and responsible journalism from the newly appointed executive members of the SUST Press Club.
