
Mobile court to monitor market, ensure tourists' safety in Rangamati

Mobile courts are being continuously conducted by the Rangamati District Administration to monitor the market and ensure tourism safety. In continuation of this, a mobile court was conducted in the College Gate area of Rangamati at 12 noon on Friday.
During the operation, a shop owner was fined for selling products at an excessive price without displaying the price list and another shop owner was fined for selling expired products.
Earlier, on Thursday (June 12), a mobile court was conducted in the Reserve Bazar Launch Ghat, Tabalchhari Ghat and Parjatan Ghat areas from 11 am to 2 pm. Members of various boat associations, linemen and boat drivers stationed in the ghat area were present at that time.
During the operation, some tourist boats operating risky activities in the lake adjacent to the Deputy Commissioner's bungalow were instructed to maintain a safe distance. At the same time, the concerned boat associations were instructed to convey this warning and comply with it properly. Representatives of BIWTA were present during the drive.
In addition, a shop owner in the Reserve Bazar area was fined for selling goods at an excessive price without displaying the price list.
The two mobile courts were run by Mr. Shiv Shankar Basak, the learned Executive Magistrate of the Rangamati District Administration.
