
Gana Odhikar Parishad held protest rally, torchlight procession in Kurigram

A protest rally and torchlight procession were organized by the district leaders of the Gana Adhikar Parishad from Shapla Square at 8:30 pm on Friday in Kurigram Sadar, circling various places in the town and ending at College Mor Square.
The speakers present at the time strongly condemned and protested the attack by BNP leader Hasan Mamun's terrorist forces on the convoy of former DUCSU VP and central president of the People's Rights Council, Nurul Haque, and his leaders and workers at various places in Patuakhali, Dashmina and Galachipa.
Present at the event was S.M. Noor Ershad Siddiqui, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court, Member, Higher Council, Public Rights Council.
Also present were Kurigram District Public Rights Council President Advocate Sajjad Hossain Palash, General Secretary, Lecturer Abul Kalam Azad, Aminul Islam Amin, Divisional Coordinator of Public Rights Council, Shafiqul Islam Molla, Land and Housing Secretary, Central Public Rights Council, Abu Tanvir Sumon, President of Public Rights Council Ulipur Upazila, and leaders of all levels of students, youth, workers, professionals and Public Rights Councils of the district and upazila.
After the protest rally and torchlight procession, S.M. Nur Ershad Siddiqui, a member of the Higher Council of the People's Rights Council and an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, said that Patuakhali BNP leader Hasan Mamun should be arrested immediately for the terrorist attack on former DUCSU VP and President of the People's Rights Council Nurul Haque Nur.
He further said that those who think that VP Nur is no longer needed are living in a fool's paradise. We did not shed blood in the mass uprising of 24 for the sake of new occupation. I would like to inform those who are doing these things, extortion, occupation, tender bidding that the election to be held in 2026 will be a fair election and the student population of this country will vote in that election.
Learn from the past, if you don't learn from it yet, a worse fate awaits you than Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina has had time to escape. If you are not right, you will not find a way to escape.
Abul Kalam Azad, general secretary of the Kurigram District People's Rights Council, said that no terrorist force will find shelter on the soil of Bengal.
