Allegations of illegal pocket committee formation at Kachupatra Govt Primary School in Taltali

Staff Correspondent

There have been allegations of widespread irregularities and nepotism in the formation of the managing committee of the Kachupatra Government Primary School in Taltoli Upazila of Barguna. Local residents have accused the school's headmaster, Md. Zakir Hossain Paltu Mallik, of forming a 'pocket committee' of his own accord, ignoring government regulations.

‎Md. Kamal Hawlader, a student guardian and local resident of the school, said that the specific policies and instructions issued by the current government for the formation of the managing committee of the primary school were not followed in this school. There are allegations that several people have been included in the committee as representatives, despite not being guardian members, in an irregular manner.

In addition, a person has been appointed as the president who was an active member of a political party (Awami Jubo League) during the government. He now runs under the name of BNP, but according to multiple sources, he has been expelled from BNP.

Complainant Kamal Hawlader said, "The headmaster has formed this committee completely illegally by ignoring government instructions. Instead of ensuring the development of the school and the learning environment, there is a risk that the normal teaching process of this educational institution will be disrupted by placing people with political influence on the committee."
