 Embodied members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) detained six members of an illicit broker ring during a drive at the Mirpur Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) office in Dhaka, with a mobile court subsequently sentencing them to two months' non-rigorous imprisonment each.

The operation was conducted at approximately 2:00 PM on Monday, inside the Mirpur BRTA premises. On-duty Ansar personnel spotted the suspects engaging in suspicious activities, including promising service candidates expedited vehicle-related procedures in exchange for illegal monetary payments and official documents.

Upon detection, an anti-broker drive was launched under the supervision of BRTA Executive Magistrate Md. Anisuzzaman and led by Guard In-Charge PC Md. Mofiz Uddin and APC Al Mijan alongside on-duty Ansar members. The team apprehended six suspects red-handed on the scene.

The detainees were identified as Sujan Chandra Das, 39, Md. Al Amin, 26, Abdul Mannan Shikder, 44, Md. Monir Molla, 38, Md. Tipu, 26, and Md. Mofazzal Hossain, 50. Ansar members Pabitro Chandra Singha, Md. Roknuzzaman, Md. Rakib Mia, Md. Shah Imran, Md. Sohel Rana, and Md. Manik Mia took part in the operation.

Following the drive, BRTA Executive Magistrate Md. Anisuzzaman sentenced all six convicts to two months of non-rigorous imprisonment. The individuals were subsequently handed over to Kafrul Police Station for the execution of legal proceedings. Bangladesh Ansar and VDP authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining strict surveillance at public service centers to eliminate broker exploitation and safeguard service seekers.
