Dr. Amena Khatun Tania, a gynecologist and specialist surgeon at United Clinic and Pathology in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj district, and her operation team have successfully completed a complex "Cervical Cerclage" operation for the first time.
Through this successful operation, a desperate mother saw the face of a living and healthy child for the first time in 12 years, who had previously lost her child in three consecutive six-month pregnancies.
This complex procedure has to be completed at about three months of pregnancy, where the cervix is sewn so that the gestation period passes safely. After that, the patient is kept on complete bed rest for about six months and has to be kept under regular observation. This is a very challenging operation at the upazila level, which has been completed by the skilled hands of Dr. Amena Khatun Tania.
She was assisted in this operation by Dr. Sajjadur Rahman Sujan and Dr. Mohsin. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Tania has previously demonstrated her expertise in other complex gynecological operations, including the fourth cesarean section.
This success not only brought a smile to the face of a mother, but also proved that it is now possible to provide sophisticated and complex medical services at the upazila level.
