
HSC Exam under Dinajpur Education Board : Rate of absentee rising, 3552 did not appear in English 1st, 2nd papers , 11 expelled

The rate of absenteeism is steadily increasing in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations held under the Dinajpur Education Board.
On Thursday, 1,795 candidates did not appear for the English 2nd paper exam held at 213 centers in Rangpur division under Dinajpur Education Board. The absentee rate was 1.74 percent. 5 candidates were expelled for adopting unfair means. Earlier, on July 1, in the English 1st paper exam, 1,757 candidates were absent. The absentee rate was 1.71 percent. 6 candidates were expelled in the English 1st paper exam for adopting unfair means.
Chairman of Dinajpur Education Board, Professor Mir Sajjad Ali, informed that in the HSC exam held yesterday, Thursday, in English 2nd paper across 213 centers of 8 districts in Rangpur division, there were a total of 1,02,894 candidates. Among them, 1,01,099 candidates took part in the exam. That means 1,795 candidates did not appear for the exam.
Regarding the increase in the absentee rate, Exam Controller of Dinajpur Education Board, Professor Mir Sajjad Ali, said that after the examination, the respective educational institutions will be asked in writing for the reasons of absenteeism.
