Locals have formed a human chain demanding the removal of Morsheda Gulshan Ara, the head teacher of Kefayet Nagar Government Primary School in Jhalokathi, on allegations of irregularities, authoritarian behavior, and misconduct with guardians.
The hour-long human chain was held on Sunday morning in front of the school, located in Ward No. 7 of the municipality. Guardians of students and local residents participated in the protest.
Speakers at the event included guardians Sabuj Khan, Abul Hossain Khan, Musfiq Khan, Elias Panchayet, and Miraj Hawlader, among others. They alleged that Head Teacher Gulshan Ara frequently misbehaves with parents and transfers underperforming students to nearby schools instead of keeping them enrolled at her own institution. Additionally, there are various complaints against her regarding the mismanagement of allocated school funds.
Protesters demanded her immediate removal and warned that they would stop sending their children to school if their demand is not met. After the human chain, the aggrieved guardians staged a demonstration in the school premises.
