A human chain and protest meeting was held against Shah Kamal Khan on charges of extortion and spreading propaganda on social media in Dighirpar Union of Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj.
The program was organized by people from all walks of life of Dighirpar Union on Wednesday afternoon. People from different classes and professions of the union participated in the human chain.
The human chainers alleged that Shah Kamal Khan has been harassing local influential people including prominent businessmen and social workers of the union, Mannan Khan and Mizan Khan, for a long time by extorting and spreading false information on social media.
Victim Mizan Khan said, “About three years ago, he was caught from the Shah Kamal River. According to the decision of the locals in the arbitration meeting held in the case of that theft, he was expelled from the village. Since then, he has been spreading misinformation against us in various ways.”
At the protest meeting, the locals sought strict action from the administration against such misdeeds. They also said that attempts to destroy social harmony will not be tolerated in any way.
The participants in the human chain unanimously condemned Shah Kamal Khan’s actions and demanded immediate legal action.
