
Joint forces raid safe food Industry in Faridpur over allegations of irregularities in food production, fine imposed

A joint forces team conducted a raid on Safe Food Industry in Kanaipur, Faridpur, following allegations of irregularities in food production.
During the raid, the establishment was fined one lakh taka by the court for starting production without obtaining approval and using expired flavoring ingredients in food products.
The operation was carried out on Thursday night. The court proceedings were overseen by Md. Shafiqul Islam, Assistant Commissioner of Faridpur Sadar Land Office. Alongside members of the army and police, BSTI Inspector Md. Khaled Hasan, District Safe Food Inspector, and District Sanitary Inspector Bozlur Rashid Khan were present during the operation.
Court judge Md. Shafiqul Islam stated that, based on confidential information, the joint forces conducted the raid at Safe Food Industry in Kanaipur, Faridpur. During the operation, it was found that the factory had started production of several food items without BSTI approval and was using flavoring ingredients without valid expiration dates. Consequently, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, the owner of Safe Food Industry, was fined one lakh taka.
