Ousted AL govt siphoned off Tk thousands of crore abroad: Yasser

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury, MP, on Saturday said that the ousted Awami League (AL) government siphoned off Taka thousands of crore abroad after looting public money through the construction of bridges and overpasses in Dhaka.
The state minister was addressing as the chief guest at a rally organized by the district BNP in front of its party office in the town this afternoon.
He also said that those involved are now attempting to create anarchy in the country. Warning against any attempt to resort to terrorism, Yasser said BNP, together with the people, will resist such efforts.
He said there is no scope for terrorism and anarchy in Bangladesh, adding that BNP will continue holding rallies against activities that hamper the country's development and stability.
District BNP President and lawmaker Faridul Kabir Talukdar Shamim presided over the rally.
District BNP Secretary and lawmaker Advocate Shah Md. Wares Ali Mamun, lawmaker AE Sultan Mahmud Babu, Jamalpur Zilla Parishad Administrator Sirazul Haque and other district and upazila BNP leaders addressed the rally.
Later, a large procession led by Yasser was brought out. It paraded the main roads of the town and ended at Tomaltola area.
