Plantation, saplings distribution program held in Boalkhali

On the occasion of World Environment Day, saplings of date palm trees and various species of medicinal plants have been planted and distributed in Boalkhali, Chattogram on Thursday.
An awareness campaign and this exceptional tree plantation program was organized at the historic Sreepur Bura Mosque premises by the Green Chattogram Alliance to protect the environment.
In this, a campaign to raise awareness about environmental conservation was organized in addition to planting and distributing saplings of date palm trees and various species of medicinal plants courtesy of the Motawalli of the traditional Sreepur Bura Mosque, Md. Nurunnabi Chowdhury.
Boalkhali UNO Mohammad Rahmat Ullah was present as the chief guest, Boalkhali Police Station OC Golam Sarwar and Allama Shoaib Reza (M.G.A.), Khatib Principal of the historic Sreepur Bura Mosque, were present as the special guests. The speakers said that to combat the impact of climate change, we need to increase awareness at the local level and play an active role in protecting the environment by planting trees.
Such event will inspire the young generation to think environmentally friendly.
The organizing organization, Green Chattogram Alliance, said that they will continue to implement such programs to preserve the environment and protect local biodiversity.
