 A counter-press conference was held in protest against the so-called false, baseless, purposefully motivated, conspiratorial and defamatory press conference in Dhaka by the controversial Awami League ally Zubair Hossain Bappi against Zakaria Pintu, the former general secretary of Ishwardi municipal BNP, and the national hero who returned from the gallows after receiving the death sentence in the attack on the train convoy of the dictator Sheikh Hasina and the nomination of the paddy sheaf in the upcoming national elections, the former successful president of Ishwardi upazila BNP and former vice-president of Pabna district BNP, the freedom fighter Shamsuddin Ahmed Malitha, and Mehedi Hasan, the former general secretary of Ishwardi municipal Chhatra Dal and former member secretary of Ishwardi upazila volunteer party.

 This press conference was organized by Ishwardi Upazila BNP, Pur Jubo Dal and all its affiliated organizations at the local press club on Sunday morning.

 The former successful vice-president of Pabna district BNP and freedom fighter Alhaj Shamsuddin Ahmed Malitha delivered a written speech at the press conference. Also speaking were former joint secretary of Ishwardi Municipality BNP SM, Fazlur Rahman, BNP leaders Asanhabib, Aminur Rahman Swapan, Ataur Rahman Pata, Humayun Kabir Dulal and convener of Ishwardi Municipality Jubo Dal Zakir Hossain Jewel. Strongly condemning, protesting and drawing the attention of Tarique Rahman to the false, baseless and fabricated statements made by the controversial Zubair Hossain Bappi, an ally of the fallen autocratic Awami government, at a press conference organized in Dhaka, the speakers said that on August 1, 2025, at the Dhaka Reportus Unity Auditorium, the former successful general secretary of Ishwardi Municipality BNP, former joint general secretary of Pabna District BNP and national hero who returned from the gallows after receiving the death sentence in the attack on the train convoy of autocratic Sheikh Hasina and the public leader who is hoping to be nominated as a paddy in the upcoming national parliament elections, Md. The so-called false, baseless, purposefully motivated, conspiratorial and defamatory statements made by controversial Awami League associate Zubair Hossain Bappi against Zakaria Pintu, former successful president of Ishwardi Upazila BNP and former vice-president of Pabna District BNP, freedom fighter Shamsuddin Ahmed Malitha, former successful general secretary of Ishwardi Municipality Chhatra Dal and former member secretary of Ishwardi Upazila Volunteer Dal, Mehedi Hasan, are said to be baseless, purposefully motivated, conspiratorial and defamatory. 

It is said that it is a strong demand to unmask those who are behind the false statements that organized Bappi's so-called press conference. The fair political practice in Ishwardi after and before August 5 started with the help of BNP leader Md. Zakaria Pintu. BNP leader Zakaria Pintu wrote a new chapter of harmony. But unfortunately, the trouble started as soon as Zakaria Pintu announced his candidacy for the post of MP in the upcoming National Parliament elections. Pabna district BNP convener Habibur Rahman Habib, driven by revenge, started conspiring against Zakaria Pintu one after another. He kept spreading lies and slander against Zakaria Pintu through various TV talk shows, law and order committee meetings, and various social media platforms.

It is mentioned  that Engineer Hasanuzzaman, a pirate on the Padma River and a banned Awami League leader, openly took a stand against the activist leader Mehedi Hasan, the owner of the legal Taria Mahal leasehold of the Padma River, A.T Enterprise. Habibur Rahman Habib became obsessed with the attempt to 'catch fish with a stick' over the attacks and shootings of the banned Kankan Bahini on the Padma River and its banks. Not only that, recently, the Bangladesh Army led a raid on the Padma Char, which was overwhelmed by the atrocities of the Kankan Bahini, and recovered two Kankan Bahini terrorists, several weapons, drugs, human skulls and a huge amount of money along with various documents. In order to divert that issue from the other side, Habibur Rahman Habib tried hard on various TV talk shows to take a stand against the patriotic army. Shahidul Islam Molla, the owner of the controversial leaseholder of sand extraction in the Padma River, is the owner of Molla Enterprise. Despite being the joint general secretary of the Bagatipara Upazila branch of the banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League in Natore district and one of the accused in the attack case in the student-public movement against discrimination, Habibur Rahman Habib did not hesitate to take a stand on his behalf.

They said that he has openly taken the side of all those terrorists and Awami dosards to take a stand against Zakaria Pintu. At a time when Zakaria Pintu's popularity is not being reduced in any way, he has staged a drama at a press conference by bringing forward a controversial person named Zubair Hossain Bappi, an Awami dosard, with the direct and indirect support of Shariful Islam Tuhin, the identified murderer-terrorist of Dashuria. The alleged press conference in which BNP leader Zakaria Pintu was called a terrorist, extortionist, drug dealer and Balu Mahal occupier is not only false, but also extremely defamatory. In the press conference, the established businessman of Ishwardi and the tested and dedicated leader of BNP, the brave freedom fighter Shamsuddin Ahmed Malitha, has been called the godfather of terrorism, all of which is false. Shamsuddin Ahmed Malitha is a brave freedom fighter, who does business by giving the government millions of taka in revenue and income tax. Shamsuddin Ahmed Malitha has played a strong role in the tough movement and struggle against the dictator Sheikh Hasina in the past. Which is not unknown to anyone. Since the establishment of BNP, he has organized the party well in Ishwardi by fulfilling various important responsibilities of the party. On the other hand, although he is young in age, the leader who has played a responsible and important role in keeping the fragile and leaderless BNP of Ishwardi united is Mehedi Hasan, the former member secretary of Ishwardi Upazila Volunteer Party. He created a massive mass movement in Ishwardi, ignoring the bloodthirsty eyes of the authoritarian Sheikh Hasina's ruling forces before August 5. Not only the mass movement; he has led the front line in the attack cases of Awami terrorists at the field level. They also said, "Abul Hossain's son Zubair Hossain Bappi in the Bakuler Mor area of Ishwardi town has built up a huge wealth and wealth by building friendships with influential leaders of the fallen authoritarian Awami League for the past 16 years. This Bappi has been moving in the area with authority for the past 16 years by building alliances and friendships with Awami terrorists in the College Para, Bakuler Mor and Mashuria Para areas." In addition, this Zubair Hossain Bappi was one of the main financial associates of the former president of the banned student organization Ishwardi Upazila Chhatra League, the terrorist Rakibul Hasan Roni. Since Bappi's father was abroad, in 2008, during the caretaker government, the people of the area were upset by the torture of this Zubair Hossain Bappi and his mother, who was identified as an SP at the time. To protect themselves from their torture, the locals formed a public signature program and a prevention committee and kept them 'in one room'. Which was widely publicized in many media outlets at that time

This Zubair Hossain Bappi emerged 'suddenly' after August 5. No one has seen Bappi in BNP politics for the past 16 years or before. Yet, a person with a name like him holds a press conference and lies against senior and resigned leaders including BNP's long-time leader Zakaria Pintu, which is nothing but sad. On August 9, 2003, a terrorist named Shariful Islam Tuhin shot and killed the then Jubo Dal leader Abdul Khalek alias Khalek-member in front of the Pabna Sugar Mill in Dashuria in broad daylight. According to the prevailing law of the country, the terrorist and murderer Tuhin was hanged and later sentenced to life imprisonment. After serving a long 22 years in prison, he was released on July 14 through a loophole in the law and came to Ishwardi. The controversial Zubair Hossain Bappi 'suddenly' rose to prominence at the hands of this terrorist Tuhin. Many people promote him as the 'mastermind' behind Tuhin's release. So now it is easy to understand what kind of conspiracy game has been used to hold a press conference in Dhaka in the name of Ishwardi BNP's 'Pranabhomra' Zakaria Pintu, Shamsuddin Ahmed Malitha and Mehedi Hasan? To destroy the praise that Zakaria Pintu has garnered by announcing a united BNP in Ishwardi, the notorious murderer of Dashuria, Shariful Islam Tuhin, keeps hatching various conspiracies. Basically; with the direct and indirect support of Habibur Rahman Habib and Shariful Islam Tuhin, Awami dosas like Zubair Hossain Bappi have got the courage to show such a challenge. They are trying to destroy BNP's politics in this region to implement the Awami League's agenda with good tactics. As BNP workers, we cannot accept this in any way. Was Shariful Islam Tuhin in prison for attacking or filing a case against any political or Awami League leader? Of course not. He was in prison for 22 years for killing a popular leader of his own party. BNP leaders and activists or the people of the area were never safe from him, and still are not. Realizing this, Tuhin is trying to achieve his own interests. How is the BNP leadership safe from someone who is not safe from a worker of his own party? The speakers raised the question and said that Tuhin was responsible for numerous murders, fights and robberies in Dashuria.

In 1988, Yusuf Malitha and Waz Malitha's nephew were beaten to death in broad daylight in Dashuria Bazar. In 1993, the police arrested a robber in a robbery at Shyamoli Coach on the Dhaka-Chapai Highway. Later, his confessional statement revealed the involvement of Shariful Islam Tuhin of Dashuria in that robbery. Later, a raid was conducted and Shariful Islam Tuhin was arrested in that case from Puthia, Rajshahi. Tuhin was sentenced to 17 years in prison in that case. In 2001, Shariful Islam Tuhin and his terrorist group shot dead another person named Shukur in front of the Pabna Sugar Mill in Dashuria. On August 9, 2003, they shot dead the then organizing secretary of the Ishwardi Upazila Jubo Dal and former UP member Abdul Khalek in broad daylight in front of the Pabna Sugar Mill in Dashuria. Tuhin was sentenced to life imprisonment in that case. In 2000, on the orders of Habibur Rahman Habib, Shariful Islam Tuhin blocked the road of former MP of Pabna-4 constituency Sirajul Islam Sardar on his way back from Pabna, got him out of his car, stabbed him repeatedly, and seriously injured him. In addition, this murderer-terrorist Shariful Islam Tuhin is the mastermind of many known/unknown crimes including land grabbing, house vandalism. Former Chhatra League central president Habibur Rahman Habib joined BNP after not being able to benefit from the Awami League. Since joining BNP, BNP politics has been divided in Ishwardi and Atgharia upazilas. So far, Habibur Rahman Habib has not been able to cast a single vote in any election. He has not even come to the area to vote for any candidate nominated by Ishwardi. He has not played any visible role in any movement or struggle in Ishwardi against the autocracy of Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League. But after August 5, he has become the owner of a huge amount of money by extorting money in Ishwardi. He has taken about 5 crore taka from 53 brick kilns in Laxmikunda Union alone. Finally, the press conference ended with the demand for exposing the hybrid leaders from the Awami League and their exemplary punishment, and the expectation of fair BNP politics.
