Youth beaten to death over drug-related dispute in N’ganj

A young man named Swapan Molla (35) was beaten to death by assailants in Fatullah, Narayanganj, over a drug-related conflict. His younger brother was also injured while trying to save him and is currently being treated in critical condition at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Police from Fatullah Model Police Station recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Swapan Molla, son of the late Sahad Ali Molla of Gopchar in Sadar Upazila, worked at a brick kiln in Baktaboli. The incident occurred on Saturday night near Chitakhola in the Uttar Narsinghpur area of Fatullah.
Fatullah Model Police Station OC Shariful Islam, citing the victim's wife, said that a person named Tipu had called Swapan out of the house. Later, two youths took him on a motorcycle to the crime scene. The murder appears to be related to a dispute over drug dealings.
He added that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those involved in the killing.
