
Attempted sabotage on Railway line foiled in Natore

Miscreants attempted an act of sabotage by wrapping an iron chain around the railway tracks and locking it near Madhnagar Railway Station in Naldanga upazila of Natore. Upon receiving the news, police and railway officials rushed to the scene, cut the chain, and removed it.
The incident occurred around 10 PM on Sunday night in the Palashitola area near Madhnagar Railway Station.
According to police and local sources, a pedestrian noticed the locked chain wrapped around the southern section of the tracks near the station and immediately informed local residents. Naldanga Police and the station master arrived at the scene shortly afterward. With the help of a mechanic, they cut and removed the chain and lock from the tracks.
Although several trains were delayed for a few hours following the incident, operations have since returned to normal.
Uzzal Ali, the on-duty station master at Madhnagar Railway Station, said, “As soon as we were informed, we rushed to the scene and removed the lock and chain from the tracks. We suspect it was an attempted act of sabotage. Three trains departed a few hours later than scheduled. Train movement has been normal since that night.”
Naldanga Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam said, we reached the scene at night and removed the chain. Preliminary investigations suggest it was an act of sabotage by unknown individuals. An investigation is underway, and those responsible will be identified and brought to justice.
