A separate victory rally was organized by the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami on the occasion of the historic July-August Mass Uprising Day atv Manda in Naogaon.
A protest march came out of Kamarakuri High School grounds in the upazila on Tuesday at around 11:30 pm and ended at the Charmatha Mora Golchatra on the main road of the upazila.
A brief rally and prayer ceremony were organized there.
The rally was presided over by MA Matin, a member of the BNP's central executive committee and former convenor of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal.
He said that this state is no longer ordinary people, it has gone under the control of the looters. Human rights, votes, livelihoods are all questionable today. The BNP is fighting to restore democracy and human rights and will do in the future.
Manda Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Shamsul Alam Badal spoke among others, former BNP member secretary Bayazid Hossain Palash, Upazila BNP vice-president Maklesur Rahman MK, AKM Nazmul Haque Nazu, Upazila BNP member Dr.Ikramul Bari Tipu, Joint convener Belal Hossain Khan, Abul Kalam Azad, General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Babul Chowdhury, Organizational Secretary Advocate Kumar Biswajit Sarkar, Upazila Jubo Dal convener Nurul Islam, Advocate Mizanur Rahman, Advocate Mizanur RahmanElectricity, the convener of the farmers, Emdadul Haque Sultan and the convener of the Chhatra Dal Sahiduzzaman Salek and leaders.
In solidarity with the movement, leaders of each union of the upazila, ward level activists and supporters participated.
The speakers said that everyone should unite to restore democracy in the blood of the martyrs.
On the other hand, Jamaat Manda Branch organized a large rally from the party office demanding justice and execution of July.
Jamaat nominee MP Amir Khandaker Mohammad Abdur Rakib, former Upazila Chairman Prof Abdur Rashid, Jamaat leader Prof Mostafa Al Amin, Thana Master Mozam Mohd, Mozdar Mohd, and Mozdar MohdYouth Jamaat president Abdul Malek, Super Abdur Rakib, Abdul Qayyum, Chairman Mokhlesur Rahman leaders were present.
