A huge protest march and rally was held on Tuesday afternoon by the initiative of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Branch on the occasion of the Genocide Day on August 5th, July 36th.

The protest march organized by the Rangpur Metropolitan Jamaat started from the town hall square of the city and passed through the city market, supermarket, Payra square, Jahaj company intersection, press club square, Grand hotel intersection and went around the main roads before meeting at Shapla square. 

The rally was held under the chairmanship of Jamaat's central Majlish-e-Shura member and Metropolitan Ameer Vice-Principal  Maulana ATM Azam Khan and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's central working committee member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region team member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal was the chief guest. The rally was addressed by Jamaat-e-Islami's Rangpur Metropolitan Secretary Anwarul Haque Kajal, Metropolitan Assistant Secretaries Raihan Siraji, Al Amin Hasan, Sadar Upazila Ameer Maulana Mazaharul Islam and Islami Chhatra Shibir Rangpur Metropolitan Branch President Mohammad Nurul Huda.

Former Rangpur City Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Ruhul Quddus, Kotwali Thana Ameer Maulana Golam Kibria, Thana Ameer of Peshajibi-2 Professor Golam Mostafa, Metropolitan Working Committee Member Maulana Shahjahan Siraj, General Secretary of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Land Port Workers Union and Assistant Regional Director of Rangpur-Dinajpur Region of Bangladesh Shromik Kollayan Federation Professor Abul Hashem Badal and Rangpur Metropolitan President Bangladesh Shromik Kollayan Federation Advocate Kawsar Ali were present at the time.

The speakers, with the determination to build a discrimination-free Bangladesh, demanded immediate justice for the brutal murders committed by the former fascist dictatorial Awami League government and demanded early elections. They also called for resistance across the country against their barbaric aggressive activities.
